For this month's edition of Love Cuts, Lovellious links up with Seasoning Festival founder and local councillor Fraser Dahdouh ahead of this year’s immanent gathering in Stroud (29th–31st May), exploring the idea that “rave culture is folk culture.” Through conversation and sound, the show traces a line between traditions, moving from soulful, jazz-adjacent folk into dubbed, mystical electronics, to consider how these worlds meet in a dancefloor context. Fraser reflects on Stroud as a place shaped by both folk mysticism and rave history, unpacking the recent resurgence of interest in folklore, its tensions and contradictions, and how it might offer new ways of thinking about collective experience, music, and social space.
