Anahita Shamsaei is a London-based DJ and founder of Makaan Records. Born in Sheffield and raised in Tehran, her work sits at the intersection of sound, culture, and diaspora. Through her experience working with refugees and undocumented communities , she became aware of how many artists are displaced or silenced due to censorship and conflict, which led her to establish Makaan Records as a platform to amplify these unseen and unheard voices.

For Anahita, DJing is not only about music and specially Techno but about presence and resistance , a way to exist and challenge patriarchal structures through sound. Her sets often unfold as a form of storytelling, reflecting what is happening in her mind and engaging the audience in a shared narrative through hypnotic techno.
