Muzikawi is a record label based between Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and Stockholm, Sweden, celebrating music from Ethiopia. They are curating this Friday's programme, with a special homecoming story woven through music.

Our guest, Hewan (Ethio Grooves), returns to Addis Ababa after years abroad in Ireland and brings with her a treasure trove of sound. From her uncle’s cherished cassette collection, she has handpicked timeless classics of Ethiopian music that shaped generations.

More than just nostalgia, Hewan, herself a DJ with a sharp cultural lens curates these tracks as living stories, offering listeners a journey through rhythm, memory, and heritage. Whether you grew up with these sounds or are discovering them for the first time, this episode promises two hours of deep connection, groove, and rediscovery.
