Cyprus is an island located in West Asia with a diverse population which includes Greek, Turkish, Armenian and Maronite Cypriots. The archiving and documentation of Cypriot music is a path less trodden. The weeds of the islands turbulent history has struggled to provide fertile ground to the existence and passing on of musical traditions. 

Live from WOH Radio Stage, SOPHIA's show will be a contribution to the wider conversation of mapping out the sonic landscape of Cypriot music and identity, past to present. She'll be celebrating the diversity in Cypriot music from folk songs shared between communities, Turkish Cypriot pop, Greek Cypriot Hip-Hop, and we’ll be hearing from frontman of the Psych Rock band from the divided city of Nicosia, Buzz’ Ayaz, whose deliberate blend of Greek and Turkish Cypriot champion unity!
