'The Agency of Voice’; It Takes A Village with Plumm…
The next edition of We Out Here Festival: It Takes A Village weekly radio series is here. A show paving the road to the festival, connecting artists from across the line up.
For this episode, Plumm steps onto the airwaves ahead of August with The Agency of Voice. Responding to the theme It Takes A Village, she explores the people, practices, and performances that helped her discover her voice, not only as an instrument, but as a means of finding authenticity and artistic agency.
A South London vocalist, composer, multi instrumentalist, and bandleader, Plumm creates music that sits between trip hop, alternative electronica, and the UK's evolving jazz underground. Her work blends improvisation, electronic textures, and expansive songwriting, while collaborations across London's experimental music community continue to shape her creative world.
Through conversation, musical examples, and reflections from fellow vocalists, the show explores everything from phrasing and tone to improvisation and genre, celebrating the many ways we communicate through the voice. Alongside the music that transformed her own journey, Plumm also shares unheard material, inviting listeners into the next chapter of her evolving sound.
Where voices connect and communities grow, culture is almost always built together…
