‘Collective Solidarity’; It Takes A Village with Red City Solidarity Disco…
The next edition of We Out Here Festival: It Takes A Village weekly radio series is here. A show paving the road to the festival, connecting artists from across the line up. For this episode, Liverpool collective Red City Solidarity Disco step onto the airwaves ahead of their return to We Out Here.
Following their involvement in Future Foundations two years ago, they join us this summer as one of our regional club partners, bringing sounds to the Roller Rink. Coinciding with Refugee Week, their contribution explores what community means and the importance of collective solidarity. Founded in 2019, Red City Solidarity Disco is a fundraiser party supporting grassroots campaigns around work, housing, and migration justice.
Through music and organising, they have collaborated with and supported community groups across Liverpool and beyond. Through conversation with DJ Mane, the show explores the people, places, and experiences that make up their village, alongside the inspiration behind Golden Lounge Sound System. Interwoven with musical selections from across the collective, the broadcast reflects on shared struggle, mutual support, and the communities we build together.
Where voices connect and communities grow, culture is almost always built together…
