Valentine Comar continues her exploration of mornings through sound with the “Breakfast in…” series, inviting DJs and collectors from around the world to curate guest mixes under the breakfast theme.

This week’s edition is "Breakfast in Hypnopompia": the surreal, dream-like state experienced when waking from sleep. In this mix, Sway Of The Verses musically represents the transition from dreaming to breakfast, moving through a haze of sound into clarity and light.

Sway Of The Verses is a DJ and radio presenter specialising in raga-based music, blending it with a wide spectrum of styles including classic ragas, ghazals, qawwali, Punjabi folk, Indo-jazz, lo-fi ambient, hip-hop, and electronic music. His show on NTS offers an accessible deep dive into raga traditions, while his Voices Radio show explores contemporary sounds from across the South Asian diaspora. Through DJ sets at Tate Lates, We Out Here, Dancing Family, and Indika Festival, he’s introduced these sounds to wider and younger audiences.
