Valentine Comar continues her “Breakfast in…” series, where she invites DJs and collectors from around the world to curate a guest mix under the breakfast theme

This week, she welcomes Tall Nico, firmly rooted in the Rook Records family, where he helps keep the shop’s daily rhythm flowing. Outside of that, he’s often spotted carrying a big record bag through the streets of London.

His guest mix, "Breakfast in the Sun on a Small Boat" is a dreamy, escapist selection inspired by the final days of summer:  “In this mix, I’ve brought together a selection of tunes that soundtracked the end of my summer,” Nico shares. “When I recorded it, London was heading into its busy season, and I found myself wanting something that felt like an escape. So I started pulling records at random from my collection, guided by a simple image: being alone under the sun in a small boat.”

The result is a gentle, free-flowing vinyl set that drifts through moods and melodies like sunlight on water.

Valentine opens the show with a selection that matches the mood, setting the tone for Tall Nico’s peaceful solo voyage.
