Marking 15 years of Lisbon’s Príncipe Discos, Zuri explores the emergence of Batida and Kuduro as sounds born from migration, community and cultural exchange. 

Live from WOH Radio Stage, Zuri traces how Angolan diasporic communities in Portugal forged new cultural villages on the outskirts of Lisbon, using music as a tool for identity and belonging. 

Through artists such as DJ Marfox, DJ Nigga Fox, Nídia and DJ Firmeza, the programme examines the evolution of these hybrid sounds and the role of Príncipe in documenting and amplifying the movement. Moving between past and present, it reflects on the enduring musical dialogue between Lusophone Africa and Portugal, and how a new generation of artists is pushing this sound forward now.
