For this episode, Brazilian pianist and composer Amaro Freitas steps onto the airwaves with a solo piano performance recorded in Templemars, France for Tourcoing Jazz Festival.
From the North East of Brazil to international acclaim, Freitas has become known for a startlingly unique approach to the piano. His playing is virtuosic, deeply percussive and rooted in Afro Brazilian rhythms including Baião, Coco, Ciranda, Cavalo Marinho, Caboclinho and Frevo.
